I totally love this post, Debra. I believe you are writing about so many of us and I love it. I think as we all know, the most important part of it is to find what we most enjoy doing and to keep getting "less bad" at it.

Thanks for the reminder... :)

I agree! I said it that way because Tom is the kind if artist I so admire - the kind that keep working to get better

Oh I can totally identify with what you are saying, and even after 40+ years at this and several "awards" and times that it looked as if I "made it big" only to dip back down into the trenches (or fall into that mud puddle), I am still working on those Small Steps/Big Steps toward that moving target; but loving it every step of the way!!

Thanks so much for your comment Mary! I truly feel like the love is what we all keep coming back for.

I love the phrase 'without tripping over my own ambition'! That hits hard!

Thanks Heather! You are one of the artists I have followed for years, and I have admired your ambition

High heels on cobblestones--and I have always hated high heels! Some years I think this just isn't going to be a business at all.

I think we can all relate! Thank you for commenting Suzanna, and I wish you flip flops from here on!!

I have a bunion from those darn high heels.

Oh my gosh! I feel your pain! Lol. I actually thought of that phrase because I just put heel cushions in all my shoes.

Not sure where I am half the time. I just keep on trucking along on the journey. Love your articles. Practical, applicable to many and say it like it is. Thanks.

Thanks Doreen so much for being on this journey with me!

Loved the article, However I do not love the to make a comment on it through the FASO article that they want some one to pay for it. Can anyone write or share with out being paid. I believe so. I really like and value your advice, but the constant pay wall is tiring.

We don't have a paywall on this article.

I am not sure why when I clicked on the comment section it wants me to pay to comment. Maybe I am doing it wrong. Thank you for the reply.

Ah got it. I double checked and we aren’t limiting comments to paid subscribers on this post. So not sure. Hopefully just a glitch. Thank you.

Susan, the tech stuff always sounds like the teacher in Charlie Brown to me. If you are doing anything wrong, I am still there holding your hand, counting on you and all the others to guide me through the maze! LOL.
