Debra, you are priceless as is this essay. My ideal day matches yours. And one of the wonderful benefits of getting older is that standing in front of my easel contemplating my next paint stroke is a place of deep happiness and peace, no matter the success, awards, sales or other accolades. Thanks for writing this!
Oh, thank you for reading and commenting Mary! I feel like as artists, there's so much to write about, because when you get right down to it, we are all having a very similar experience. I'm so hoping to get in front of my easel today!
My perfect day…. I like to sleep till I wake. No alarm. My hubby and I get up together and have coffee and tea. A couple hours to read in quiet. When ready, get on with the day. He golfs, I art in my room. We meet back before dinner. Talk a bit. Have a glass of wine and make dinner together. No rushing , just enjoying our day, together and apart. We do this now and love it. Money does not buy happiness.
I love to art! I don’t market it but do post it and some shows I enter. It is just fun for me. I am retired and worked all the time. This is my happy time in life.❤️Funny thing…. My hubby comes into my art room to just sit with me.🤗❤️
AI can never compete with real art. Monet’s colors reveal obsession—equal parts ecstasy and agony: “Color is my day-long obsession, joy and torment,” says the great landscape colorist Claude Monet. We read that quote and see the work, and we are not surprised at his torment. They are a perfect match. AI art has no soul.
Oh man... If I just suddenly came into that much money, jeez... I might need a day to process it all, but then I'd immediately jump to buying a giant wooded property and set to work designing my dream workshop and house. Probably buy a car too. Then I'd get them built, and after all that, I'd donate a crap ton to my favourite people and charities. Maybe I'd even travel and participate in the humanitarian services myself! Then I might settle down into a rhythm of blissful creation and service of my fellow humans. I'd also probably want to start a business and hire a financial advisor and start investing so the money doesn't just disappear. Ahhh, then I could finally live out my dreams of being an eccentric philanthropic artist.
Thank you, Debra, for reminding us of the human side of art. Your words truly resonate with my own artistic journey as well.
I’d also like to propose a piece that I hold dear, La Notte Che Vede (The Night That Sees). It invites the viewer to experience the night not as a mere backdrop, but as an active, ever-watchful presence—one that observes and engages with our deepest selves, uncovering its hidden wonders.

That’s so sweet!

Art comes from the soul. AI produce art that has no soul - therefore it's not art - it's pictures of nothingness.

Well then, I DO hope you end up rich beyond your wildest dreams Hilda!
