A book that’s really worth reading on the subject of being an artist in a world of big tech, is The Death of the Artist by William Deresiewicz. Sobering but empowering at the same time.
I think I've started reading that book. His book is interesting and he brings up some good points, however, I found myself (on what I've read so far) thinking "I actually don't agree with this." I feel like there's more opportunity than ever for most artists who are willing to put in the work. I will go back and keep reading though.
