Like any Art, it takes learning to speak, knowing yourself and a willingness to fail. Finding your truth regardless of what others think or accept. Pushing boundaries plus an outer shell of steel.

Succeeding in the arts takes boldness. Courage. And a willingness to offend. The hardest thing to create is truth and honesty.

One needs to put aside their ego and self interests. If one can do this, there is a good chance you can make something worthwhile.

Henry Miller’s words resonate with me, not as a writer but as a painter. By the way, I have three of Henry Miller’s books, Henry Miller as a fascinating watercolorist.
