A crisis in commitment to everything. From education to marriage, community to introspection. As an artist, this decade has been the worst in my life so far. At 60, that is saying something; the rest of my twenty or so years will never give me back what I lost to a society that values mass production over caring cultivation. It is a crisis.

Hubby and I watch Sisyphus pushing that boulder every day since he(we) specialize in medical device start ups. It takes 5-10 years to bring a new device to market. Most won't make it. Sometimes persistance takes a group effort. My man is the guy behind Sisyphus, pushing him while he pushes the boulder. Over a million lives saved in his career. I think about the impact he has had. What can I, you, we do to help someone who needs help achieving their goal? Rome wasn't built in a day and certainly not by one person. Painting professionaly is hard and discouraging. It costs nothing to encourage another's commitment. A great painting by someone else doesn't hurt me, it makes the world a more beautiful place. We could be helping each other more. www.ArtistDiane.com
