I think that we sabotage our own private creative time more than any other person by distracting ourselves with 'busy work' under the guise of marketing. The phone is an intrusion both in incoming and outgoing use.

Yes, this is a fine line. The muse isn't always around, and sometimes we need to relax and allow inspiration to come to us by feeding our muse. Sometimes we need to do marketing. But you are right, it's easy to get on our devices for those reasons and end up spending too much sacred time in the busy-ness of avoiding the important.
