Thank you for sharing this and for your honest vulnerability. Slowing down, forcibly or not, and listening to oneself, REALLY, is essential. And you find that you're a writer!! Seriously cool! May you have great joy.

I am going through that process too. The difference is that it has taken me 30 years, 😂. The collective trauma of the Pandemic is still lingering in everybody's psyches. I cannot personally blame the Pandemic, my disconnection to the true Sovereign within happened (in my case) at the age of 10. I read the Artist's Way, but I still resisted the advice given in there. I would love to continue reading your insights and inner journey into this self-claim of kingdomhood.

I would add, society wants to cage us into one thing: being an artist, a programmer, athlete or writer. Human beings are all these things all the time. We are beings, that come to existence to play all these roles, have fun, and try new things! Why is it that we need to limit ourselves by a title, a notion, a noun? To me that is most insidious cultural lie that bind our freedom to try new things, new avenues, and adventures.

Yes, this was a piece I wrote about a year ago and I didn’t change it, however, I have stopped calling myself a “writer.” Now I simply say, “I write.” I agree with you that we can be many things and titles are limiting, though sometimes necessary in the “real” world.

There's timing for everything, so all is well in the end. You're carrying a wisdom from experience that you can share with others now. How cool is that? 😊🌱 Keep reaching deep.

I call it the Eternal Authentik Self and never ever be ashamed of sharing the truth of your experience. I went through the same in the period when few years ago I was fighting over myself to not get lost in the deepest pain and despair.

Actually, from the depth of my experience I would say, that what's happening externally can be put on hold for a little bit and what we should really focus on is our unchanged connection with Source, because it not only applies to creativity, but to every single aspect of our existence and truly no real solutions can be found without that connection. By running around and trying to repair the damage of the external world, we're working from a perspective of a little lost human being. By reconnecting within, we can reach solutions that can change our life and influence the world as well. 🩵✨

Well said. I wish I had learned this lesson sooner and am grateful to have learned it at all since life now has unlimited light and color.

No shame in admitting weakness, Clint. There's actually strength in that. Bottom line, if you're supposed to be a painter, a writer, a sculptor, whatever, you better do it or it will catch up with you. Been there done that.

Fantastic authenticity and courage in your sharing. I read The Artists Way 20 years ago and did all the exercises. It got me out of a despondent depression and I've been dating myself ever since. My creative journey continues to evolve as I open myself up to The Creative Flow of The Universe. I've learned when I get my ego out of the way, magic happens and I am awed by what happens beneath my fingers. Love your shares.
