Sketches are cool too. Sometimes I almost prefer little quick sketches to larger more finished works.
Starting with the small sketches is a terrific place to start.
I would encourage you to consider sending small studies or even postcards of the larger oil paintings as gifts to previous collectors.
It helps keep the lines of communication open and that is what counts most in generating sales.
