Musings on the role of Muses in Museums
I used to think of it as the muses.
These days I think of the Holy Spirit.
Either way, I am humbled and grateful for the inspiration.
To be inspired is to live, to create.
To expire is to die.
I have a passion for this subject. I even wrote a book about it. How women shaped the evolution of art during the late 1800s and early 1900s. thanks for sharing this article.
Thanks, Renate. I am sure they did it through fire.
Thought-provoking words!
How tragic that we sometimes choose to limit ourselves to matter and reject transcendent realities:
To walk through Dachau and see only barbed wire and old wooden prison sheds, but refuse to sense others’ despair …
To enter a centuries old schoolhouse and not try to imagine the lives of its former students …
How sad that under-lived life would be. All those wasted moments.
“But if you don’t believe me when I tell you about earthly things, how can you possibly believe if I tell you about heavenly things?”
—Jesus Christ (John 3:12 NLT)
Oh yes, how indeed!
Great article.
Thanks!
