Yes, I would be very interested in a commission matching platform!

Yes I accept commissions to paint historic buildings and historical scenes in northern Califorinia. I also refer collectors to artist friends who paint other types of subject matter that I do not paint.

I think it would be a great idea!

I’d also like to see you create an “Etsy” type e-commerce that a person can come to to see fine art & artisan work.

Serious question: if you want "Etsy" type platform, why not just use Etsy?

More of a higher end artisan space /platform- I couldn’t think of another platform to compare because I don’t think it exists.

Yes. I do commission work and have, many times, offered a finders fee or if through a gallery they got their usual split.

I do commissions but they’re rarely ever telling me what to do. I ask them to send me music they like and talk a bit about their life before I start though.

I do commissions and we make the wood panels in house so sizes are highly customizable for abstract oil and cold wax art.

Yes, I would be interested in seeing a platform of this nature. In the past I have not accepted commissions, but have been considering changing that policy to at least accept some.

No I wouldn't be interested. I dislike doing commissions and usually only do them for clients I know and have previously bought from me. It sounds like a great idea for artists who do lots of commission work.

Yea I do commission work and would LOVE to have that kind of platform. That kind of platform would help weed out the scammers.

I used to. I find them to be stressful and take too much time away from my “real” painting. Often they are too restrictive and in watercolor, redos are start overs.

I have taken a few special requests from people I know, a subject which is up my alley, and they agree to let me be me. These are rare but have always paid off. I have even been given more than I quoted because the piece was so much better than they pictured. Better than they imagined is what I strive for.

But I will not open commissions to the public. — No, sorry, I can’t paint all your deceased pets and husband with the rainbow bridge, but let me give you some names of other artists that might be able to help you. (True!)

I am happy to refer commissions to other capable artists in the area.

Yes I think this is a great idea. I’m often asked to do commissions that are outside of what I do. It would be great if I could quickly scan artists and suggest an artist that was a better fit for them.

I am the same as some here and never go looking for commission work as I, too, dislike them. I'll occasionally create a piece that a customer asks for but there is no obligation on their end. If they don't like it when it is finished, that's fine. I'll put it up for sale and someone else will buy it.
